Designer’s note: the coffee table
Commonly referred to as cottage or country-side coffee table, this style coffee table usually feature soft lines and detailing, such as turned legs which often add a warm cosy element to the table. Country style coffee tables usually have a more distressed or “rustic” appearance – hence the nomenclature.
Mid-Century coffee table
Mid-century coffee tables have been most in vogue in recent year, and unsurprisingly they were heavily influenced by popular culture between the 1950s and 1960s. Mid-century modern coffee tables are recognised by their clean, simple lines and are often made with wooden or plastic frames. The wooden variants usually have a simple finish to emphasise the natural beauty of the wood.
