Master and dynamic – new era of speaker design
Master and Dynamic are a New York City-based audio company that has gained global attention for their premium-quality headphones – and rightfully so. Recently, the young audio company has taken a step into new waters by revealing their first premium speaker. Design collaboration with renowned architect Sir David Adjaye, the MA770 Speaker is polished and minimal with Hi-def audio quality. In our view it’s a great example example of contemporary design.
As well as being wireless, the MA770 speaker’s casing is made from a concrete. The speaker comes with a removable magnetically attached stainless steel grill for those that prefer the look of the exposed components and hand-finished concrete.
Concrete isn’t really the ideal material for a speaker, including the practical issue of the additional weight for one. But, Master & Dynamic use the concrete to thicken the speakers’ walls thereby helping to deliver rich sound that minimises sound impurities.
Not only do we love the design, the sound quality is great. There is a bass port that allows for additional support from third party hardware although just one MA770 speaker can easily fill a room with sound.
